RGM and ALPINE establish the AFM GmbH – Austrian Facility Management
15. June 2012 - 15.06.2012 – RGM Holding GmbH, Dortmund, and the internationally operating construction company ALPINE Bau GmbH, with headquarters in Wals near Salzburg, have founded the AFM GmbH – Austrian Facility Management, Linz. Both companies hold a 50% share each in the joint venture, in which all Austrian facility management activities of the two joint venture partners are bundled.
"Our aim of founding AFM was to position a strong, reliable facility management services provider in Austria in cooperation with ALPINE", explains Nils Lueken, who is responsible for AFM's business activities in Austria as managing director alongside Dipl.-Ing. Josef Pilsl.
The joint venture focuses its services on providing integrated facility management for commercial properties and complex real estate located predominantly in Austria. "At the same time, AFM is an excellent platform from which to expand our core competence into neighbouring markets in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Region and also for public-private partnerships, so-called PPP-models", Lueken emphasises.
"When it comes to our international business activities, we concentrate our efforts on countries with a high degree of similarity, i.e. with similar regulations, laws and a comparably business culture", says Prof. Fritz-Klaus Lange, managing partner of RGM Holding GmbH, explaining the company's overall strategy. "In the past two years we have already managed to gain a foothold in Turkey, Spain and Switzerland. Austria is also a closely related market to ours and fits into RGM's strategy 100%", said Lange.
"In view of the growing concentration process and fall in margins on the German market it has become increasingly important to create new markets and to establish oneself on an international level. By expanding our services to selected foreign markets, we are also meeting the demands of our internationally operating clients to accompany them abroad and continue offering our range of services beyond the borders of Germany", Lange explains.
RGM now boasts 120 employees abroad who manage a gross floor space of more than 500,000 m².
"With RGM, ALPINE has found the optimal joint venture partner when it comes to providing facility management services. Together we will continue to develop AFM into a leading specialist for building management, also beyond the borders of Austria. This is in line with our clients demands and our corporate philosophy", adds Werner Watznauer, member of the executive board of ALPINE Holding GmbH.
